Our Origin Story – What makes us a Super Company!
Kirk Blubaugh founded System High Corporation late in 2005 after a successful career in the U.S. Air Force and several years as an executive at a large defense contractor. Within the first few months of 2006, Kirk brought on four highly experienced and capable security professionals as equal partners: Ralph Schindler, Larry Lange, Dave Railing and Rod Potter. The five partners created a vision and culture that quickly attracted the interest of many of the security industry’s best and brightest professionals as well as prospective customers. Initially focusing on the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) as a primary customer, System High quickly became the “go to” provider for high-end program security and Cybersecurity/Information Assurance support. Additionally, as a 100% Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) Free Company, many NRO prime contractors came knocking to round out their teams. System High grew from the original group of five in 2006 to nearly 200 employees at the beginning of 2015. The award of our Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) contract in 2011 solidified System High as a major player in the high-end security market. Today, System High is a vital, growing company with a strong people- and mission-oriented culture.
“At System High, we hold ourselves accountable to provide the best protection services available in our industry. Our corporate motto “Information’s Best Defense” defines our core competency and the reputation we strive to maintain as protectors of national security and proprietary information.” – Kirk Blubaugh, CEO and President
The Evolution of Our Logo
When Kirk founded System High in 2005, the customer focus was 100% on the NRO. The five partners had decades of experience providing security and program protection for the NRO and this background led to a desire to identify with and display the company’s intimacy with the space community, reflected by the satellite and orbit. The original motto “Innovative Ideas – Sound Solutions” was developed to tell our story of “accomplishing the mission no matter what.” In 2011, while we were moving into many other business areas, we continued to maintain strong ties to the NRO and space, but felt it was time to update the motto to better reflect where the focus of the company had moved; protecting sensitive information for any customer while accomplishing the mission, every time. In 2014, we wanted to display a more modern appearance in our logo while maintaining our historical ties to the NRO and space community and keeping our focus on “Information’s Best Defense.” The fresh, bold look of the new logo reflects our renewed commitment to both our history and our future.
